9. Conclusions

 

Findings in nosologic, psychopharmacologic and genetic research indicate that the diagnosis of schizophrenia includes a biologically heterogeneous population. Resolving this heterogeneity would open up a new perspective for genetic research and pharmacotherapy for the illnesses covered up for a century bit the diagnostic label of schizophrenia.
