Shridhar Sharma: Insulin coma treatment: Facts and controversies

Vimal Razdan’s reply to Samuel Gershon’s comment

Let me make it clear that insulin coma treatment (ICT), which was considered unsafe in the mid-20th century, was safe in expert hands and was effective when applied to properly selected cases. Moreover, with the much improved monitoring facilities now, it would be absolutely safe. It needs to be given consideration, a second chance in the present scenario, at least for difficult and treatment resistant schizophrenic patients.
