I appreciate the comments of Dr. Blackwell and hope “The Forgotten Language” will find its way from our website into education. I also hope it will stimulate not only defining psychiatric populations in terms of psychopathology and psychiatric nosology but also linking these populations to abnormal brain functioning.
I share his views about the importance of lithium in pharmacotherapy in psychiatry. I keep lithium apart from chlorpromazine, meprobamate, iproniazid and imipramine only because it is a natural and not a synthetic substance that was rediscovered and not discovered in the same time period as those drugs. .
