Jay D. Amsterdam and Leemon B. McHenry : The Paroxetine 352 Bipolar Study Revisited : Desconstruction of Corporate and Academic  Misconduct

Samuel Gershon’s comment on Karen Starko’s comment on Daniel  Kanofsky’s comment

This material has been carefully combined, analyzed and commented upon. This detailed work has contributed to the clear conclusion that many of these studies have been compromised and presented in a number of cases as positive findings which is not the case. The report by this group has introduced the real question as to how much material overall can be accepted as factual. It would seem that Pharma would be jeopardized by these reports and damage their marketing attempts. Perhaps they know better, and all is well for them. But it is not well for teachers, students, practitioners and patients. This would seem to damage scientific communication as well, if we read and do not know what is factual.
