Thomas A. Ban’s reply to Jose de Leon’s comment

Thomas A. Ban’s reply to Jose de Leon’s comment on his Neuropychopharmacology and the Forgotten Language of Psychiatry

Thank you very much for you complimentary comments. It is indeed unfortunate that Karl Jaspers’ General Psychopathology and Karl Leonhard’s Classification of Endogenous Psychoses did not receive their deserved recognition. The dismissal of these contributions during the second half of the twentieth century deprived research in neuropsychopharmacology from more discriminate clinical end points in the schizophrenias and bipolar disorders than provided by diagnoses in consensus-based classifications. We hope that INHN’s educational program in the history of the field will help to rectify the situation.
